LHY FMC: The music is almost hypnotic now

Writer's picture: Jay's AudioJay's Audio

The FMC arrived in time and I plugged it in together with the finisar module and replaced the Aruba switch that was first in my chain.

Before playing music with the new switch I had just listened for 1h, it was everything from pop, rock, jazz to violin concerto and opera (Verdi’s Nabucco by Riccardo Muti).

The effects were immediate.

After just 1 second after the swap I noticed a difference. More details, accuracy, better tonal correctness, focus, soundstage width and height (easy to notice in opera).

Overall changing out the Aruba switch was well worth the cost. The music is almost hypnotic now, very clean highs and tight, crisp and detailed low end.

Here is some pictures of the digital setup:

I have a Shunyata Alpha v2 Ethernet cable feeding the FMC (I’ve tried a bunch of cables and the copper cable still matters here sadly so don’t use a cheap Amazon cable like I did.) A Finisar 1318 BTL module coverts the signal to OS2 fiber feeding my SW-10. Power cable to SW-10 is also important -The best power chord I’ve tried in my SW-10 so far is a Isotek Syncro Evo 3 cable straight in to the wall. It simply gives you more details.

From SW-10 it’s another finisar module feeding the signal through a OS2 fiber cable to my LUMIN X1.
