Allen Key 2.0mm
Step 1: Use a 2mm Allen Key to loosen the 6 screws at the rear panel, and 7 screws at the bottom panel. Total screws to remove = 13.
Step 2: Slide the cover (gently!) outward for approx 20mm/1inch. There are two flat cables attached from the display to the motherboard. Please do not use excessive force.
Step 3: Lift & flip the Top Cover (gently!) Please be mindful that there are cables attached to the Top Cover Display and Motherboad. Please do not pull them apart.
Step 4: Indentify the Switching Power Supply of the DMP-A6. AKA SMPS
Step 5: Remove the jumper cable. It is a latched connector, press the middle part to unlatch it, and pull it up gently
Step 6: Use a + Phillips Screwdriver to remove the 6 screws securing the SMPS module
Step 7: Dismantle the SMPS module. Prepare the LPS-A6 module.
Step 8: Locate the Insulation Rings (4piece). Place them securely on the PCB standoff as shown in the following photos.
Step 9: Install the LPS-A6. Place it securely on top of the 4pieces of Insulation Rings. Align the LPS-A6 properly to the screw holes Please note that the rings may move slightly, use the 2mm Allen Key to move them inline.
Step 10: Use the existing screws to secure the LPS-A6 module onto the chassis. Use a + screwdriver to tighten the 4 screws. You will have excess of 2 scews. Please keep them savely.
Step 11: Install the silver-plated DC cable. Please plug in the connector(s) firmly to the socket(s) as shown in the following photos.
Step 12: Close & Flip the Top Cover (gently!) downwards. Please be mindful that there are cables attached to the Top Cover Display and Motherboad. Please do not pull them apart.
Step 13: Slide the cover (gently!) inward. Alight the cover properly to the rear panel and buttom panel.
Use the 2mm Allen Key to tighten 6 screws at the rear panel, and 7 screws at the bottom panel.
The upgrade to the LPS-A6 has been completed successfully!

A1: No, you do not need an external LPS. The LPS-A6 is a Linear Power Supply, purposed built for the DMP-A6 (Standard & Master Edition)
